Neck Lift

A neck lift, also known as lower rhytidectomy, improves visible signs of ageing in the jawline and neck.

What is Neck Lift?

How is a neck lift performed?

*Traditional

An incision can be made behind the ear or alternatively in front of and behind the ear, similar to a facelift incision. In this technique, excess neck skin is removed through the incision made behind the ear. A traditional neck lift surgery will be performed under general anaesthesia, and usually it takes two to three hours.

*Limited Neck Lift

A limited incision neck lift may involve incisions only around the ear. While the incisions are shorter, the results may be more limited.

What can a neck lift do?

What about recovery of your surgery?

Recovery from this surgery takes time, and it’s important that you’re patient with the process. Most people can return to work in seven to 14 days. Your plastic surgeon may also recommend you wear a medical compression bandage to help reduce post-operative swelling. This is usually worn night and day for at least five to seven days, and then only at night for a longer period of time.
